The Coalition for Osteopathic Excellence Foundation Appoints Three Community Leaders from Brevard County to its Board of Directors

(Melbourne, FL) The Coalition for Osteopathic Excellence (COE) is pleased to announce the appointment of three Brevard County community leaders: Catherine Ford, Bill Potter, and Gene Cavallucci to its board of directors.

The COE is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve healthcare through increasing financial support of medical education and health related endeavors for medical students at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) for both of its campuses in New Mexico and Florida. BCOM’s new four-year medical school campus, located on the campus of and affiliated with Florida Institute of Technology, will admit its first class of one hundred students this coming July.

“We are honored to have accomplished community leaders such as Mrs. Ford and Messrs. Potter and Cavallucci join our board. They are passionate about their community and will play a vital role as we strive to increase support for medical student scholarships and retaining future graduates in Brevard County,” states William Baker, DO, COE’s Chairman of the Board.

In addition to John L. Hummer, co-founder & president of BCOM and ex-officio member of the COE Board, Lee Scheinbart, MD, BCOM’s Chief Health Affairs Officer and longtime physician leader in Brevard County will also serve as an ex-officio member of the COE Board.
